There are many people that suffer from drug and alcoholic addiction and for the most part they all have to lie at some time about their addiction until they are found out by close friends or family members. They begin to act differently and they become recluse in some cases. They have a feeling of loneliness and become isolated for an extended period of time. There are times when a family member could be out looking for their drug addict brother or sister because the drug abuse has sent them out in the streets to search for something that will destroy them.

In today's society a lot of people deny their drug use and think that it is no big deal when they are actually killing themselves. It will take an aggressive intervention to get these people to understand what they are doing with their lives. During the pre-intervention phase family members and friends meet together to discuss how they will confront their loved one. They are instructed to write letters of love and appreciation to the loved one and will be asked to read it aloud during the intervention.

It is usually the next day that the intervention takes place or at a close scheduled time to the pre-intervention phase. A familiar location is chosen and the drug addict or alcoholic is told something to lure him or her to the location. Of course the reason for doing this is that they will never want to be confronted about their drug problem or be introduced to any Christian rehabs drug program.

Usually the person is in deep denial and all they are thinking about is how to get money to go buy their next stash of drugs. Intervention proceedings are boring to them and they don't see what the big deal is about. The easy part is getting them to the agreed upon location. When the drug addict arrives at this scheduled location they will look for clues as to what this is all about but they will quickly realize that their time of doing drugs is coming to a close. Some will ask for the opportunity to do drugs one more time and some interventionists will grant them that wish. This is not necessarily the right thing to do but everyone wants to reach an amicable outcome and so compromise is usually better than having them walk back out the door without a commitment.

There are instances when the drug addict will not comply or agree to anything or they will agree and actually go to one of the closest Christian rehabs drug program but will leave or haphazardly take part in the treatment only to relapse later. There are a small number that will commit to the program go through it completely with full commitment and still relapse. This does not mean that they are losers or failures. It means that they just have to try again or find a way to deal with the trigger points that cause their relapse.

They learn their trigger points and get tools and resources on how to handle the craving of drugs or deal with the friends that they once had who did drugs as well. The therapist will sit with the individual and have long talks about what caused the drug problem and how to detect the hurt and pain that has prolonged over the years. The therapist will want to have an idea of the addict's drug use the type of drugs used medical history history of drug use employment history and current situation.

After an in depth discussion the therapist will then formulate a plan for treating this individual. Group session will probably be recommended as well as spiritual guidance. These individuals will help the recovering drug addict to learn about the goodness of God and see things the way that God wants them to see it.

They will understand the life of Jesus Christ and the reason for accepting him as Lord and Savior of their lives. They will know for sure that God loves them and wants the best for them. They will become spiritually aware of their surroundings to understand why they were created and what their purpose is on this earth.

With church attendance and study of the Word of God the recovering drug addict will be enlightened and be able to have a nurturing relationship with God and others. Hope will be something that is possible to them after going through this kind of treatment.

Of course there are no quick fixes but with God on their side they can reach a phase where life no longer seems so dim. They will be revived and want to look forward to a future life with Jesus Christ who will give them strength to deal with life's issues.

With God's help and treatment at one of the Christian rehabs drug program they will find out the extent of the support that they will be able to receive and learn how to rely on the strength of God to help them along life's journey.

There are no short cuts or overnight success. The process can be slow and it may not be smooth but with prayer and supplication along with confidence in the power of God they will be able to overcome and enjoy a life that they were meant to have.

In fact many will learn that what they went through may not only be for them to seek God and learn of his purpose for their lives but also to have a testimony to share with others.
